문명의 발전으로 인해 대중은 시간과 공간을 초월해 더 쉽게 예술문화를 접할 수 있게 되었습니다. 이러한 시대를 반영하듯 셀 수 없이 많은 정보가 도처에 홍수처럼 넘쳐흐르고 디지털 기술의 확산은 예술문화의 무한한 복제를 가능케 하였습니다. 하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 예술품의 오리지널리티와 그것을 소유하는 행위가 갖는 가치는 과거나 지금이나 동일합니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 경제적인 문제, 안목의 유무, 구입 경로의 어려움 등으로 인해 예술문화를 직접 경험하고 소유한다는 건 아직 대중에게 멀기만 한 이야기입니다.
자신만의 공간을 꾸미고 싶지만 마땅한 그림이 없는 현실, 고전적인 회화 복제품 이외에 다른 작품은 찾아볼 수 없는 현실, 마음에 드는 작품은 지나치게 고가인 현실 등, 대중이 예술과 멀어질 만한 조건은 무수히 많습니다. 또한 전 세계의 수많은 작가들은 작품을 대중에게 제대로 선보일 기회를 갖지 못하고 있습니다. 디지털상에서만 작품을 보여주어야 하거나 전시의 기회를 갖더라도 일회성 행사에 그쳐버리는 것이 현실입니다. 작가의 진정성이 담긴 작품들이 대중에게 다가갈 기회는 너무도 적습니다. 이에 크리에이티브다/는 예술과 대중을 더욱 가깝게 만들 수 있는 방법을 고민하였습니다.
크리에이티브다/는 파인아트와 그래픽, 예술과 상업, 아티스트와 디자이너 간의 경계선상에서 균형의 가치를 찾으려는 시도입니다. 대중에겐 예술에 더 쉽게 다가갈 수 있는 기회를, 작가에겐 자신의 크리에이티브한 아트웍을 세상에 알릴 수 있는 새로운 길을 제시합니다. 다양성과 진정성의 가치를 추구하며 디지털보단 아날로그적인 방법을 지향하는 크리에이티브다/는 대중과 아티스트를 잇는 다리이자 새롭게 탄생하는 중간문화입니다.
We understand the reality that purchasing art that is both attractive and affordable can be difficult.
Those who want to buy an artwork can be deterred by high prices, or a lack of knowledge about where to obtain new works. Artists also suffer, as those with enormous potential have difficulty getting exposure and selling their work. We recognized the need for an alternative space that makes artwork more approachable and accessible to the consumer, alleviating the frustrations one faces when trying to build their art collection. Our exhibitions also give up-and-coming artists exposure in the contemporary art scene.
Diversity and Authenticity
예술의 경계를 정의하고 단정하기보다는 다양함을 인정하고 예술을 소유하는 행위가 갖는 가치를 알리는 문화를 만들고자 합니다. 크리에이티브다/는 화가, 그래픽 디자이너, 건축가, 타이포그래퍼, 패션 일러스트레이터, 웹투니스트 등 세계 곳곳에서 활동하는 다양한 분야의 아티스트들과 함께 일하길 원합니다. 국적, 성별 같은 조건을 떠나 작가의 진정성이 담긴 작품을 국내에 소개하고자 합니다. 크리에이티브다/의 큐레이터들은 오늘도 세계의 많은 아티스트들을 찾고 있으며 예술적 가치가 충분한 작품들을 대중화하기 위해 끊임없이 고민하고 있습니다.
We hope ‘creative da/’ would be the meaningful movement presenting the value of owning a work of art. We scour hundreds of the most creative designers and artists from around the world to bring you an affordable and inspiring works of art. Since selection is based on how much the work possesses original or inherent authority, how much sincerity, genuineness of expression, and pure passion the artist or performer puts into the work, every piece on ‘creative da/’ carries its own authenticity.
Digital but Analog
크리에이티브다/는 작가들의 진정성이 담긴 크리에이티브한 작품을 디지털이 아닌 아날로그적인 방법으로 전달하고자 합니다. 디지털 기기를 이용해 손쉽게 제작할 수도 있지만 작가의 열정을 완성된 작품의 높은 퀄리티로 확인할 수 있게 하기 위함입니다. 크리에이티브다/는 모든 과정에서 사람의 손길이 느껴지게 하는 것을 제작 원칙으로 합니다.
Over the past decade, the number of analog printing process has dramatically decreased in favor of their digital counterparts. Even if it is a bit more complicated and costs more, however, we as creative da, stick to analog printing so as to express more depth and richness of artworks. As putting our best effort into every process of reproduction we can deliver the authenticity in art, the spirit of each artist.
